A step change

BACKGROUND
My first dip into android was many years ago with a samsung note, note 3, note 4. I then grew wise to the arsehole way that samsung release their phones with crap support and terrible OS overlay. I opted for a HTC U11 which turned out to be a great phone but after 2 years and no updates for most of that I decided a change was due.
My cousin swore by one plus but up until this phone there was nothing that made the brand stand out (other than the price) for me. I must admit, having taken the leap, I can state this phone, the one plus dev's and community are fantastic. I really appreciate that the community identifies issues and the dev's fix them (where possible) very quickly.
THE PHONE
The OP 7 Pro is a great phone, the screen is amazing (I leave mine on 90hz and QHD+). If you watch Jerry rig everything on YouTube, you can see that the phone is water proofed. To keep the costs down OP just opted not to pay for certification, that's fine by me as I don't go out of my way to swim with my phone in my pocket. Nice to know its safe even if it gets wet.
Would've been nice to have wireless charging but seeing as the phone easily lasts a day its not a big issue, especially as you can purchase a USB C wireless adapter that sits on the back of the phone under a case which would give wireless charging.
Since the recent update (Oxygen 9.5.5 GM21BA) The cameras now take great photo's, the little glitches it had on launch are certainly getting ironed out. I've yet to try the video so shan't comment on that.
The clear case provided in the box with the phone was super slippery so I soon ditched that in favor of a Spigen case.
A truly great phone that just keeps getting better with each update. Hats off to OnePlus, I'm converted

The best phone I’ve ever owned

After being a life long certified apple fan boy all my life I decided to switch to the oneplus 7 pro as I liked the look of it and the specs were great. I was previously using an iPhone XS Max which cost me £1,449, I must say since literally the first hour of using this phone I am well and truly converted to oneplus. They need a pat on the back because they have really set the limit with this phone, it absolutely destroys the iPhone in every way. It’s so quick with the 90hz refresh rate and everything happens in an instant. The phone looks incredible, the camera is well built and takes much better photos than the iPhone did, the under screen fingerprint scanner is incredibly fast compared to the iPhones slow Face ID, the stereo speakers are really loud and clear and you can tell Dolby Atmos has worked on these too it’s very good. The charging is next level, you plug it in at 1% and watch a program for an hour and it’s back to 100%, or if you haven’t got an hour 20 minutes will get it close to 50%. The oxygen OS is really good I thought I’d struggle going from IOS after 10 years but I haven’t, you can do a lot more with oxygen and it’s a very fast and responsive IOS. The phone is fantastic in every way and what did I pay for it, £799, that’s a massive £650 less than I paid for the iPhone and it is a much better phone, this phone is the best now and will set the bar for flagships for the next 2 years, I am very happy with my new oneplus 7 pro and if your thinking of buying one then do it, you won’t regret it.

How Android should be!

I'm a massive android fan and after a slew of devices (Sony, HTC, LG, 2x Samsung) I always felt that the heavy handed approach taken by these companies in terms of what they do to the operating system is to its detriment - giving a poor and inconsistent experience. The nexus and now pixel phones fix the software side but with elements of hardware compromise that I wasn't prepared to live with.

Enter the OnePlus 7 Pro. I came over from a Samsung Note 8 and size and weight wise there is pretty much nothing in it. The quantum leap in user experience and happiness with my device however, is remarkable.

Things I absolutely adore:
* Warp Charge - crazy quick
* The Battery - how does it last so long, no, really? Is it science or magic?!?
* That screen. Samsung's strong suite, but the 7 Pro is gorgeous and the 90hz is impressive
* The software. Android not only as it should be but improved!
* The pop selfie camera - i hate selfies so moving the camera suits me fine
* Build quality - I worried about this but shouldn't have - its really nice to hold and feels like it will last
* Performance - this thing is LIGHTNING fast. Its bonkers.

TL:DR - awesome phone, with awesome screen, performance and battery. Just buy it already. The only negative is I'm going to struggle to buy another android after this!

Amazing Phone .Best of everything, worst of none!

Been a long term OnePlus fan since the 3T. That phone was rock solid so the 7 pro was a natural choice.
Was surprised that with the bevels etc that the size was not that much different. But now I have a lot of screen and it is stunning.
There is a fair weight to contend with but it is not a deal breaker. Gives a reassuring heft in your pocket! Nebula Blue should become the staple OnePlus colour. It is spectacular yet understated.
The display is simply unrivalled at this time, the fluid display is a treat on the eyes. Using the 3T is almost laughable now, could never go back.
My only mute point is the curved edges, they are not a personal favourite but they do not detract from the experience.
Perhaps my favourite thing about this phone is the OnePlus mantra to never settle. Update after update has provided a camera that rivals and even beats many phones much more expensive.
The Oxygen OS is literally a breath of fresh air. Seamless and smooth without gimmicks.
I am proud to be part of the OnePlus journey.
And even happier with my phone!

Social, maybe. Gaming no

The oneplus 7 pro is, yes, a nice phone, but it depends on what you want to use it for.

As a mobile gamer, I can say pretty confidently...it's pretty bad.

Pros-
~ A lot of memory, means a lot of storage
~Ram makes things fairly smooth

Cons-
~The "stylish rounded corners" are more nightmare than lush design. Menus and backtracks are often put into these corners, so trying to tap on one where it's a rounded corner menu, makes it difficult to register. A single tap is good enough, not 3-6 slams to get it to work
~Various games have various problems. We'll take Honkai 3rd and Star Ocean as examples. Both of these games i've never had problems with on my old oneplus 3. In all gaming cases, the menu boots up fast, in fact too fast for the game to register a connection, 70% of the time starting the app up with "cannot connect to wifi".

Honkai 3rd, game will crash if you tap on "base" after about 15 minutes of play. This has been consistently an issue.

Star Ocean, when exiting the game via sleep, and returning to it, the game will freeze unless you close the app, and restart completely or refresh via menu exit and re-enter.

Various other games have had at least crashing issues. This could be the apps, but since this happens with a lot of games, and not on my old-musty oneplus 3, I'd hazard at it being the 7 pro.

If you were looking for a review about the camera and other functions, well, too bad.

If you use the phone for a lot of gaming, I would not recommend this. Unless there comes some sort of system patch to improve issues and fix these, i will be continuing to be tapping with a nightmare. The 7 may be better, but ill never really know. I just wanted to share my 2 cents with the world, with that 0.001% chance that the creators might be able to improve my experience, but somehow I doubt i'll be heard =' )

The hype is so true .... it is awesome

Not that the 3T was slow, but the 7Pro is blistering fast with 8GB ram and 256GB storage.
The display is simply gorgeous, large, bright and colourful. Films are superb on it and the sound is so much better now with stereo speakers at the top and bottom of the display, though you will be hard pushed to see the top speaker!
Initial impressions of the camera are great too with 3x optical zoom and with OIS, shots are crisp and sharp. Night shots are yet to be sampled, but if as good as the rest of the camera, it will be a huge leap from my 3T.
Charging is so fast with around 60% charge in just under 30 minutes. Not that battery life should be a problem. In normal use through the day, checking emails, a little social media, a few games and reading the Guardian later at night, the phone has gone nearly two days on a full charge.
Loving Zen mode where you are encouraged to put the phone down for 20 minutes, no access to social media, messages etc, though calls are still available. OP has done a great job with keeping Android clean.
Would I buy again, damn right!

Short and Sweet - The Phone is Superb!

I'll just highlight the points that I've personally found stood out to me the most and then I list the only gripe I have about the phone.

Pros:

- Display - The best I've seen period
- Performance - 90hz is a godsend
- Price - worth every penny
- Build Quality - Solid aluminium build, no problems here
- Oxygen OS - the best and fastest android system out there
- Camera - Download the Xiaomi Mi 9 latest APK ( Camera becomes as good as pixel 3)

Cons:

- No Headphone Jack - but the warp charge compensates for it
- No Equalizer controls for Dolby audio - This is big grip as I am a regular video watch and music listener and sound quality is very important to me.

DAAAMMMNNN

So I had a OnePlus 5, which I accidentally broke. Then moved to a temporary Pixel XL that was my friends. This phone is a huge upgrade from the OP5. System is better than ever, liquid fast. Everyone seems to be complaining about the battery life, however I still get at least a full days use. Display is one of the reasons buying the phone, and I'm not disappointed. I'm so glad OnePlus 7 pro has so many upgrades from previous OnePlus phone. Getting rid of headphone jack was understandable but an adapter should have been provided with the product. Overall the phone is sexy

Amazing while short lived

Only had the pleasure of owning this device for 24 hours (dad died and had to sell it the day after to help with funeral costs) but this thing is gorgeous. Beautiful design and cuts through tasks like it knew what you were going to ask it to do. Best phone money can buy right now. The fingerprint scanner is pretty much flawless, charge speed insane and sound is fantastic. Will definitely be buying one again when things settle. Would recommend this to anyone looking at it. I've used the mate 20 pro &, note 9 recently and the Oneplus 7 Pro is in a league of its own.
