How to trade in eligible device with OnePlus?

The trade-in market value of your old, eligible device will be determined by OnePlus official trade-in partner. Additionally, OnePlus offers an extra trade-in bonus for selected device models. 

 

Step 1: Get device trade-in value

Select a new OnePlus phone that's right for you and get an estimated trade-in value of your current device.

 

Step 2: Make your payment and select "Get Paid Later" at checkout

After select and add your trade-in device, you need to complete your new device purchase paying full amount. After confirming the value of your old device, you will get the credit of its value plus bonus amount if applicable. Track your order status here: https://www.oneplus.com/customer/trade

Regardless of your chosen method, if your device’s trade-in value and bonus is higher than your purchase order value, we will send a cash coupon for the remaining amount to your OnePlus account.

 

Step 3: Ship your old device within 21 days of submitting the trade-in order. 

Upon receiving a trade-in order confirmation email, you’ll find a “Download Shipping Label” link. Download and print the prepaid shipping label, attach it to your old device. Follow the instructions provided in the email and ship your device within 21 days to ensure the quoted device value remains valid.

 

Step 4: Confirm your trade-in Offer

You can find the latest shipment status and inspection results on the Order Tracking Page provided by our OnePlus Trade-in Partner. Upon receiving your device, our trade-in partner will inspect it and perform a data-wipe. If the inspection reveals a different model or condition from your initial description, and the device’s value must be adjusted, you will be promptly notified via email with a revised offer to accept or reject. If your device’s inspection matches your description and the updated quotation meets or exceeds the initial one, your trade-in will be automatically confirmed. The difference will be issued by cash coupon when trade-in order completed.

 

If you reject the new offer within 7 days of being contacted, your device will be returned at no extra cost, and the cashback offer will be canceled. However, if you accept the revised offer or fail to respond (which is considered automatic acceptance), the updated value will be refunded to your payment account for the new phone purchase.

 

More Things to Know

  1. If you decide to cancel your new phone order while keeping the trade-in order, the bonus will be withdrawn, and your old device’s value will be compensated with a cash coupon.
  2. If your device is returned because of a misstep or missed actions, such as not deactivating the activation lock, your trade-in order could potentially be regarded as cancelled.

How to trade in ANY device with OnePlus?

If your device is not included in the eligible device list, or is broken, damaged, or not functioning, it may not be accepted by our trade-in partner. However, OnePlus also offer an easy way for you to recycle your device for FREE. Plus, we provide a recycling reward, it will be automatically applied when you purchase the new OnePlus device. Follow the given steps provided in the email to recycle any device. 

 

Step 1: Select “Trade-in ANY Device, in ANY Condition”. 

You can select this option either on the purchase page or under the “Trade-in Eligible Device” section. If $0 trade-in value is displayed for your current device, don’t worry - you’re still eligible for a guaranteed recycling reward. This reward will be applied instantly towards the purchase of your new OnePlus device.

 

Step 2: Follow the Recycling Steps

Once you’ve purchased your new device, you will receive an order confirmation email. This email will contain all the necessary recycling steps. Visit the website of OnePlus official recycling partner, provide your information to generate a pre-paid shipping label. Package your device securely and drop it off at the designated courier.

In which scenario will I receive OnePlus cash coupon?

There are three scenarios in which you will receive a OnePlus cash coupon:

1. If your device’s trade-in value exceeds your purchase order value, a cash coupon for the remaining amount will be sent to your OnePlus account.

2. If you returned your new phone but your old device’s trade-in order is complete, the device value will be sent to you in the form of a cash coupon.

3. If your device’s inspection matches your description and the updated quotation exceeds the initial one, your trade-in will be automatically confirmed and the difference between the initial trade-in value and the updated value, will be issued as cash coupon. 

Cash Coupon Use:

  1. The cash coupon is valid for twelve (12) months and can be redeemed on any OnePlus online store (https://www.oneplus.com) and OnePlus Store App within the US and Canada. The cash coupon value at checkout may vary depending on the store’s currency.

  2. Only one cash coupon can be applied per purchase. If the purchase amount doesn’t exceed the cash coupon value, the remaining coupon value can be used for the next purchase.

  3. The cash coupon is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash, credit, or other gifts.

  4. Cash coupon use is subject to the terms and conditions of the OnePlus Online Store (https://www.oneplus.com/legal/terms-of-sales). By using the coupon, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms and conditions.

How do I get the shipping label?

Refer to the email you received for trade-in confirmation; the shipping label is attached. Reminder emails to ship the device will also contain the shipping label. If it’s missing, ensure your address complies with UPS norms and provide the correct shipping address to the OnePlus service team to manually obtain your shipping label.

For packages within Canada or to the United States, use this format:

Line One: Begin with the recipient’s name, including any legal or professional title if applicable. For organizations, include company name, recipient’s work title, and department name, if known.

Line Two: Write the street address, including apartment number and directional information (NW, SE, NE, SW), if applicable.

Line Three: Write the town/city, followed by the two-letter province or state abbreviation and postal code. Use one line if it fits, otherwise, separate the information across two lines.

How do I pack and ship the old device?

You will be provided shipping label but need to use your own shipping box. You can also refer UPS website for more info

Some key steps include:

  1. Remove all passwords, locks (Find My iPhone, Samsung, Google, etc.), SIM cards, and memory cards before sending the device.
  2. Remove additional accessories and personal items.
  3. Package your device securely to prevent damage during transit. Such damage won’t be covered by the Standard Manufacturer’s Warranty.

BEFORE SHIPPING: capture 4 clear pictures of your device:

  • Front of the device
  • Back of the device
  • IMEI page on the screen (if applicable)
  • Shipping label and device side by side

Packaging recommendations:

  • Use 3-5 inches of bubble wrap for protection.
  • Seal the box with 3-inch wide plastic packing tape or reinforced water-activated paper tape.
  • Remove or cover old labels if reusing packaging.
  • Avoid carrier mail packs, envelopes, and Styrofoam popcorn or peanuts.

Drop-off your device at the nearest staffed shipping carrier, and keep the drop-off receipt for your records.

How long does the trade-in process take?

The trade-in process timeline can vary depending on your location since shipping times play a role in the overall timeline. However, once your device is received at our processing facility, the evaluation process is usually completed within 7 business days after receipt.

Why was my offer revised, and what is the next step?

Devices are inspected to confirm the reported condition. In the event that our inspection determines the device is in a different condition than reported, your offer will be revised and we will notify you via email. You will have the opportunity to accept or reject the revised offer.

Can I cancel a trade-in?

Once you have shipped your device you are unable to cancel the trade-in process. If you haven't shipped your device, then you can simply let your trade-in quotation expire if you no longer want to partipate in the trade-in program.

What happens if I send my trade-in and return the new device?

Once trade-in is approved, it can not be cancelled. The trade-in value will be issued to you in the form of OnePlus cash coupon, could be used for item purchase on oneplus.com and OnePlus Store App. 

Will the data on my device be cleared?

We have professional software to perform all data removal. It is recommended that you backup all the data from your device before sending it to us. After data removal, you will not be able to recover any data again. In addition to this, it is required that you remove all passwords, locks (Find My iPhone, Samsung, Google, etc.), SIM cards, and memory cards before sending the device.

How do I find the IMEI number for my OnePlus device?

· Power on your OnePlus device and open up the dial pad.

· Enter the code *#06# , your IMEI number will appear on your screen.

Please note, you can also check for the IMEI number in print on the package of the phone.

What happens to my device once I send it to the OnePlus Trade-In Partner?

Once your device is received at our processing center is will be evaluated. This includes a comprehensive inspection process to determine that your device functions properly. Additionally, your device will be professionally data wiped to insure none of your personal information is on the device.

How are the recovered goods processed? Will it re-enter the market?

For devices that no longer have a market value, we will carry out an environmentally-friendly recycling process. For devices with value, we will carry out regular second-hand sales after data removal and inspection. We are determined not to refurbish the device, and to ensure that each recycled mobile phone is processed through formal sales channels via an environmentally-friendly manner.

Why is our assessed value lower than the offers other trade-in sites can provide?
